Sierra completed two internships as part of her undergraduate program. Her first internship was here at Evolution Counseling, and her senior field placement was with the Appalachia Intermediate Unit 8 as a school social worker. Sierra values education and continuing learning; her professors at Saint Francis University have made a significant difference in her life, and she is thankful for that. Sierra plans to continue her education to receive her Master’s in Social Work. Sierra is passionate about working with children and families, advocacy, diversity and inclusion, and using a strength-based model when working with clients. Sierra had presented at the BPD Conference in Las Vegas regarding an initiative that she and a few classmates developed and implemented at SFU: The Monthly Mission (The Monthly Mission supplies free menstrual products in the women’s restrooms of the academic buildings on campus). Sierra also advocated during LEAD Day at the Capitol for HB1841 (Social Work Licensure Compact) and HB1500 (Increasing the Minimum Wage), meeting with various representatives. In her free time, Sierra enjoys sewing and making costumes. Sierra enjoys spending time with her husband by playing video games and watching TV shows.
